We may use the contact information we gather from you to let you know when orders are being shipped, when certain items are back in stock (on request), and to let you know about important changes to your order with us. We will only contact you if absolutely necessary; we do not operate a mailing list or newsletter service, and we will only reach out regarding back-in-stock items etc if you request it.
This website is powered by WordPress. WordPress, by default, captures a number of non-sensitive information via cookies – these cookies are created and applicable when using some of the built-in functions of the WordPress system, such as Comments or User Account creation/login.
For the purposes of any pages on this website where comments are allowed, if you leave a comment you may opt-in to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Other WordPress cookies involve logging into Nordic Charm using a user account, or publishing an article/page on the Nordic Charm website. We currently do not allow user registration or for user generated content on this website, so in this instance any cookies or data inadvertently created or captured will not be used in any way by Nordic Charm.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website share photos with us on our Facebook Page, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Articles on this site, or posts on our Facebook Page, Twitter account and other social media channels, may include embedded or third-party content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded or shared content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Nordic Charm does not use any analytics tracking packages, and so we do not track any of your visitor data in this way.

Who we share your data with
Where we send your data
Nordic Charm is a website owned, based and operated in the United Kingdom, a member of the European Union and therefore all data is automatically protected by European data standards. Visitor comments, where allowed on this website, may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
How long we retain your data
If you purchase an item from our website, the information that we gather (full name, home/shipping address, contact details) will be retained by us for a maximum of ten years. This is so we can maintain an accurate and comprehensive customer ledger, and adhere to UK government commercial document retention rules as best as we can. Unless you make a further purchase on Nordic Charm, we will only use this data for invoicing and archival purposes.
We may, however, refer to any contact details you provide as a means to reach out to you, but only if you request that we keep in touch (for example, if you would like us to let you know that a certain item is back in stock).
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for customer administration, legal, or security purposes.

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.
What we collect and store
While you visit our site, we’ll track:
- Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
- Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
- Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.
We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
